WAREHAM — Police said three men were arrested and charged in connection with the theft of more than $4,000 in used auto parts.
Officer William Fihlman, public information officer for the Wareham Police Department, said the arrests are related to the theft of about 80 used aluminum auto rims and stereo equipment from Robertson's Auto Salvage, 2680 Cranberry Highway.
Police said the rims are valued at $2,300 and the stereo equipment at $2,000.
Fihlman said the thefts occurred sometime between late Jan. 13 and early Jan. 14.
An investigation by Wareham detectives led them to a scrapyard in Westport, where the stolen items were found.
The items were later returned to Robertson's Auto Salvage.
Charged with receiving stolen property over $250 were Steven Foss, 28, of 20 Wareham Lake Shore Drive; Frank A. Sylvester, 40, of 244 Plymouth Ave., and Troy Jones, 30, of 4 Benjamin St., all of Wareham.
Foss has also been charged with possession of a small amount of illegal drugs, according to police.
The suspects were arrested Jan. 15.
In an unrelated incident, Laura Millet, 25, was arrested on Jan. 19 and charged with receiving stolen property over $250 after a house break on Jan. 15.
The homeowner reported two ornamental brass deer, valued at about $1,000, were stolen.
Fihlman said a New Bedford scrap dealer's surveillance video led detectives to Millet.
The stolen items were recovered and returned to their owner.
